Keep Your Life Private
Ghost Mode
Friend, we live in an age where we feel the need to share everything with everyone.
The food we eat, relationships, achievements, material possessions, thoughts, and emotions.
I get it.
When life’s going good, we want other people to know.
It’s like this desire to flex…
To show others we’re living life.
But the older I get, the more I realize the value of privacy.
Of cultivating your circle and only letting certain people in.
You can be open and real while still understanding not everyone deserves a seat at the table.
Here are 5 reasons to keep your life private:
Not everyone is your friend
You can’t trust just anyone with information about your personal life.
Even some of your so-called friends could be gossiping.
It doesn’t even have to be negative.
Even if they’re talking to others about your wins, that can oftentimes be detrimental.
You will not owe anyone any explanations
Exposing your personal life gives everyone a front-row seat to your show and invites their opinions.
Living a private life, you get to keep your business to yourself, and you certainly don’t feel like you owe anyone any explanations.
Peace of mind
Social comparisons will leave you feeling inadequate and dissatisfied.
Privacy removes the stress of waiting for validation from others.
You no longer care what people think of your life since they don’t know anything about it.
Safety
A private life is a happy life, but also, a safe life.
The less you share personal details and what you get up to, the safer you’ll be.
Better relationships
Privacy gives you a chance to focus on what really matters.
You can form more genuine bonds with friends and family and only allow a small circle of people you trust.
It’s better to share and connect with a few people who truly care.
Don’t get this email twisted.
Living a private life does not mean you should push people away or live in isolation.
For a while, I did just that.
Recently I understood you can only go so far on your own.
Privacy means choosing carefully what details of your personal life you’re comfortable sharing and whom you decide to share them with.
Be real and honest, but always keep them guessing.
Much love,
