One Step At A Time
Become A Better You
Friend, I’ll keep it real with you…
Recently, I’ve been in a stressful state of trying to figure things out.
In my business, in my relationships…
What I’ve noticed on this path is that there are always things to “figure out”.
You constantly have to audit what you’re doing, and sometimes that requires you to take a step back and analyze whether your moves are conducive to your goals or not.
Dan Koe has a great quote:
The single trait l've noticed in people who do great things is figuring it out. Most people never do anything unless they are told to or there's an immediate and pleasurable benefit. Successful people learn and do anything it takes to get what they want, with or without help.
Here are 6 reminders that helped me on this journey.
I hope they can help you on yours:
Look at things diagnostically:
Instead of dwelling on the negative, ask yourself:
What am I in control of?
What can I do better?
How can I improve things?
A problem-solving mindset will help you overcome setbacks much faster.
Optimize your time:
Your time is your most valuable asset.
You can't have more than you have and can't buy back what you've wasted.
So...
Delegate your tasks.
Cut off time-wasters.
Learn the difference between productive work and busy work.
Get into deep work:
Your focus is a currency.
How you spend it is an investment.
1. Block out a few hours
2. Focus on one thing at a time
3. Remove distractions
This’ll get you ahead of 90% of people.
Be resourceful:
Ignorance is a choice.
Need an answer?
Use ChatGPT.
Got a question?
Ask someone.
Don't know how to do something?
Find a tutorial on YouTube.
The solutions to your problems are at your fingertips.
You’re more than likely being too lazy to seek the answers.
Create a high-value network:
Evolution designed humans to get along with each other for survival.
Which means you'll adopt the traits, habits, and mindsets of those around you.
Reduce time with the people who hold you back.
Increase time with those who can bring you up.
Take care of yourself:
Hustle culture told us the path to success involved all work and no rest.
Sometimes, that's what it takes.
But it can also be the path to burnout and regret if you're not careful.
